Bing Image Creator is a fantastic tool that's free for everyone with a Microsoft Account (MSA)! Sign up for a new Microsoft Account or sign into your existing Microsoft Account, then you're ready to start creating amazing images.
Bing Image Creator is not available to users signed in with a Microsoft Entra ID (typically a work or school account).
To sign into Bing Image Creator, follow these steps:
- Go to the Bing Image Creator website or open the Bing mobile app and navigate to the Bing Image Creator miniapp within the Bing mobile app.
- Sign in to create.
- On the Bing Image Creator website, click the "Sign in to Create" button, which will appear in the top right of your screen.
- On the mobile app, click the "Sign in & Create" button, which will appear on the right side of the screen.
- Create a new account or sign into your existing Microsoft Account (MSA) by entering your MSA credentials.
If you are using Bing Image Creator within Copilot Search or Bing Search, you will be prompted to sign-in to Bing Image Creator before generating any images.
A Microsoft Account (MSA) is a personal account that you use to access Microsoft service. It's typically used for personal and consumer services and linked to your personal email.
Bing Image Creator may allow you to select between different image generation options for creating images from text prompts. If you upload an image to use or edit in Bing Image Creator, some image generation options may not be available. In those cases, image editing will use the model designated by Bing Image Creator for image editing experiences.
To help provide results quickly, Bing Image Creator may occasionally display a previously generated image that was temporarily saved when a new prompt is substantially similar to a recent one. This saved copy is referred to as a "cached image."

Images uploaded to Bing Image Creator will be saved for up to 30 days. After this time, any images in which faces are detected will be deleted. Images that do not have any faces detected may be stored for up to 18 months. While you cannot delete the images you've uploaded, You can always delete your creations sooner. See "Can I delete my Bing Image Creator profile and history?" below.
Images are used by Bing Image Creator to generate an image and/or make modifications to images based on your requests. We may use images uploaded to generally improve our image processing services, but we will not use them to train models or personalize your Bing Image Creator experience. We will not attempt to identify any faces appearing in uploaded images.
All images you upload for image generation and/or editing using Bing Image Creator should be original images that you own or have the rights to use. Do not upload images that infringe third-party rights (including copyright, trademark, or publicity rights), violate the privacy of others, include depictions of individuals without consent, or otherwise violate the Microsoft Services Agreement and/or the Bing Image Creator Code of Conduct. You are solely responsible for the images you upload. Your account for Bing Image Creator usage may be restricted or suspended if we detect an attempt to upload illegal or prohibited content.
You may only upload images of people with their consent.
When you upload an image to Bing Image Creator, Bing Image Creator uses the image to respond to your request.
If you upload an image or use it for image generation or editing, it's processed to complete your request and may be retained for up to 30 days. Images where faces are detected will be deleted after 30 days; if no faces are detected, images may be stored for up to 18 months.
We may use images uploaded to generally improve our image processing services, but we will not use them to train models or personalize your Bing Image Creator experience. We will not attempt to identify any faces appearing in uploaded images.
Bing Image Creator notifies you that it may process biometric data--like faces or hands--when you use features such as image upload. This biometric processing notice applies any time you upload an image while using Bing Image Creator. This includes through your use of image generating and editing tools. In some regions, you may be required to give consent before Bing Image Creator will process your image. In those regions, you will be asked to give consent, which applies across all Bing Image Creator experiences that involve image input.
Biometric data is only processed if you upload it, and it's solely used to respond to your request. For example, if you snap a selfie and ask Bing Image Creator to edit the image to give you a new hairstyle, it may analyze your facial features to edit the image or generate a new image.
Note that Bing Image Creator does not use uploaded images to train AI models or personalize your experience. We will not attempt to identify any faces appearing in uploaded images. Images where faces are detected will be deleted within 30 days after upload.
You're always in control of what you share. If you prefer not to have biometric data processed, simply avoid using these features. Do not share images of others without their consent.
If you'd like to make it easier for others to recognize that an image was created with AI, you can choose to add a visible watermark to your Bing Image Creator images.
Enable the setting below and a visible watermark will be enabled on the images you create during your current visit. You can update this preference at any time.

Creating an image with Bing Image Creator works differently from searching for an image on Bing.
For the best results, be highly descriptive and imaginative. Adding specific details such as adjectives, locations, lighting, camera angles, and media styles like "digital art" or "photorealistic" can significantly enhance the quality of the generated image.
Follow these steps to create a high-quality prompt:
- Be Specific: Include as many relevant details as possible. For example, instead of just "astronaut," provide context and visual cues.
- Use Adjectives: Describe the subject's appearance, colors, and textures. This helps the AI understand your vision.
- Include Action: Specify what the subject is doing. This adds dynamism to your content.
- Set the Scene: Mention the environment or background. It situates the subject within a particular setting.
- Style and Mood: Indicate the media style and mood you desire, like "vintage," "modern," "bright," or "dark."
Here's an example of how to transform a basic prompt into a detailed one for better creation:
- For Bing Image Creator:
- Original image prompt: "astronaut"
- Descriptive prompt: "a close-up photo of an astronaut in a glowing suit made of plasma, as if the galaxy is inside of it, putting on their helmet, but you can't see their face because of the visor, realistic, film stock, bright colors."
By following these guidelines, you can create more detailed and vivid prompts, leading to higher quality AI-generated content.
It depends on whether or not you're logged into Bing Image Creator. If you're not logged into Bing Image Creator, we may limit the number of images you can create or edit with Bing Image Creator in our discretion.
If you're logged into Bing Image Creator:
- We'll give you 15 free creations per day that you can use to generate or edit images with Bing Image Creator. Right now, each image generation request requires 1 creation and each image edit request also requires 1 creation, regardless of the Bing Image Creator creation mode or experience you use. If you use up your 15 free creations on a given day, they'll be replenished the next day. If you don't use up your 15 creations on any given day, they do not rollover to the next day or any subsequent day.
- If you use up your 15 daily creations, you may be able to keep enjoying Bing Image Creator if you obtain additional creations.
- You can use Microsoft Rewards points to keep enjoying Bing Image Creator. We'll tell you how many creations you can obtain and how many Microsoft Rewards points that number of creations will cost. When you click to use Microsoft Rewards points to obtain additional creations, you are authorizing Microsoft to deduct that number of Microsoft Rewards points from your Rewards balance. - We may provide a button on the left-hand side of the Bing Image Creator that allows you to click the button to collect an additional 10 free creations each day. Limit 1 redemption per user per day. You must be signed into Bing Image Creator with your Microsoft account to be eligible to click this button and collect the additional free creations. We can remove this button or discontinue offering additional free creations at any time with or without notice to you.
Creations obtained using Microsoft Rewards points or by clicking to collect within Bing Image Creator do not expire or reset, and they will remain available until you use them or until you delete your Bing Image Creator profile and history, whichever is earlier.
- We'll show you the total number of creations you have in your Bing Image Creator account at any given time, which will include unused creations from your 15 daily creations, unused creations you previously obtained using Microsoft Rewards points, and, if applicable, unused creations that you collected by clicking the button we made available to you. When you create or edit an image, Bing Image Creator will automatically deduct the required number of creations from your available balance. If you don't have enough creations available, you'll be prompted to acquire more creations before you can continue creating or editing images.
Credits do not have cash value and are non-transferable. Credits cannot be redeemed or used for anything other than to create an image or edit an image in Bing Image Creator.
Any images you generate with Bing Image Creator will be stored for up to 90 days.
You can delete your creations or your Bing Image Creator account at any time by following the steps outlined in the question above.
